There are two ways into the Airports Security Force (ASF): as an officer through the Federal Public Service Commission, or as a uniformed recruit through Headquarters ASF. They do not share one age limit, one qualification or one application portal, so pick your route first and then read its own advertisement line. The rule that runs through this whole guide is the same as in Narr's other joining guides: the current advertisement wins on every point, and this guide never claims a recruitment is open when its window has closed. ASF is a department of the Ministry of Defence, set up in 1976 under the Airports Security Force Act 1975, and its own site says it guards 25 operational airports, 12 international and 13 domestic. That is the job: screening passengers, bags, cargo and vehicles at civil airports.
Open now: 69 Balochistan quota posts, close 11 November 2026
ASF has opened 69 posts for Balochistan domicile holders on the National Job Portal (njp.gov.pk), under an advertisement issued on 28 October 2026, with applications closing on 11 November 2026. This is the only ASF intake open at the time of writing: ASF's own recruitment portal, joinasf.gov.pk, said "Currently, No Jobs Available" when it was last read on 28 September 2026, so do not apply on that portal for this intake. Walk in interviews for this intake run from 1 to 20 November 2026 at ASF Garrisons at Quetta, Gwadar and Turbat airports. The 69 posts sit in BPS-01 to BPS-11 and cover 15 job categories, so the uniformed posts below are only part of the intake: the rest are trade and support posts such as electrician, welder, plumber, cook and naib qasid, each with its own qualification line in the advertisement.
Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI), BPS-11, has 5 posts and needs Intermediate or equivalent. Corporal, BPS-07, has 30 posts and needs Matric or equivalent, and is the largest category in this intake. Corporal Driver, BPS-05, has 6 posts and needs Matric plus a valid HTV or LTV driving licence. Corporal and ASI posts are open to men and women: the listings reserve 3 Corporal posts and 1 ASI post for women, and 1 Corporal post under the minority quota. The age limit in this advertisement is 18 to 30 years, with 5 years of upper age relaxation under the general instructions. Read that age line carefully, because it differs from the general portal pattern below: for this intake, the advertisement wording wins.
For the uniformed posts in this intake, men must be at least 5 feet 6 inches tall and women at least 5 feet 2 inches, men need a chest of 32 and three quarter inches expanding to 34 and three quarter inches, men need a minimum weight of 48.1 kg and women a minimum of 45 kg. Apply only through the National Job Portal for this intake: create an account with your CNIC, email and password, complete your CV, open each ASF listing under the Balochistan Jobs section and press Apply before 11 November 2026. Manual or hard copy forms are not accepted.
The general route, when no quota intake is open
Outside a quota intake, ASF recruitment runs through its own portal, joinasf.gov.pk, and only through that portal: ASF says manual forms are not accepted, and any other website claiming to accept ASF applications is not official. The recruitment page lists four main posts. Assistant Director, BPS-17, needs a Master's degree, second class or grade C, with an age limit of 20 to 35 years, and is recruited through the FPSC. Inspector, BPS-16, needs graduation, with an age limit of 20 to 28 years, and is also recruited through the FPSC. Assistant Sub Inspector, BPS-11, needs FA, FSc or equivalent, with an age limit of 18 to 25 years, and is recruited by Headquarters ASF. Corporal, BPS-07, needs Matric, with an age limit of 18 to 25 years, and is also recruited by Headquarters ASF. The government allows up to 5 years of relaxation in the upper age limit on the grounds listed in the guidelines, and you must prove any relaxation at interview with the matching document.
Note the age conflict openly: the general portal pattern gives 18 to 25 years for ASI and Corporal, while the Balochistan advertisement gives 18 to 30 years for the same posts. Both figures are stated here because both are real: the advertisement for the intake you are applying to decides which one applies to you. Do not copy an age limit from the other route. The physical standard is the same on both routes: men 5 feet 6 inches and women 5 feet 2 inches, with the chest and weight figures given above.
Selection steps, in order
For the two officer grades, the FPSC advertises, tests and interviews: an aptitude test followed by an interview for eligible candidates. For ASI and Corporal posts recruited by Headquarters ASF, selection runs through physical, IQ and written tests at designated airports. For the Balochistan intake, walk in interviews run from 1 to 20 November 2026 at Quetta, Gwadar and Turbat, after the online application on the National Job Portal. A test pass does not guarantee selection: final selection follows merit and medical fitness, and the advertisement for your own intake is the document that decides each step.
What it pays, in one line
No single total pay figure is claimed here, because the Balochistan listings give no pay figure and salary blogs conflict sharply on ASF totals. What is fixed is the grade: Corporal sits at BPS-07, with a BPS-2026 starting basic pay of Rs 19,590 per month before allowances, and ASI sits at BPS-11. That starting basic pay is not total monthly pay, and allowances are added on top: see Narr's BPS salary chart for how basic pay and allowances combine. Check the advertisement for your own intake before quoting any total.
