Sindh Police Ranks and Salary 2026: Complete List with BPS Grades

Sindh Police ranks and salary 2026: Constable BPS-07 to IG BPS-22, starting basic pay from the BPS-2026 scale, and the closed September 2026 quota recruitment explained.

Sindh Police Ranks and Salary 2026: Complete List with BPS Grades

Sindh Police is the provincial police force of Sindh, Pakistan's second largest province by population, with Karachi as its largest city and the country's commercial capital. It is headed by an Inspector General of Police, a BPS-22 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, from the Central Police Office on I.I. Chundrigar Road, Karachi. This guide covers the Sindh list only. It is the provincial companion to Narr's national police ranks page and to the Punjab Police guide, because Sindh has its own recruitment, ranges and station structure that the national page does not cover in detail.

Sindh Police ranks from lowest to highest

The Sindh rank ladder runs from Constable at the bottom to the Inspector General at the top. In order: Constable, Head Constable, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Sub-Inspector (SI), Inspector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP, also called Assistant Superintendent of Police at entry), Superintendent of Police (SP), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Additional Inspector General (Addl. IG) and Inspector General (IG). Note that Station House Officer, or SHO, is a posting, not a separate rank: an SHO is usually an Inspector, and in smaller stations a Sub-Inspector. Sindh is organised into ranges including Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Larkana, plus the Central Police Office and other units.

Sindh Police ranks, BPS grades and starting basic pay 2026

Sindh Police personnel are paid on the Basic Pay Scales. The Finance Division revised the federal scales with effect from 1 July 2026 through Office Memorandum No.F.1(2)IMP/2026, dated 21 July 2026, and the starting basic pay figures below follow that revision, as used across Narr's ranks cluster. They are starting basic pay, not total monthly salary, because allowances are added on top.

  • Constable, BPS-07: starting basic pay Rs 19,590 per month
  • Head Constable, BPS-09: starting basic pay Rs 20,990 per month
  • Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), BPS-11: starting basic pay Rs 22,410 per month
  • Sub-Inspector (SI), BPS-14: starting basic pay Rs 27,060 per month
  • Inspector, BPS-16: starting basic pay Rs 33,720 per month
  • Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), BPS-17: starting basic pay Rs 54,140 per month
  • Superintendent of Police (SP), BPS-18: starting basic pay Rs 68,330 per month

Senior grades, listed without a pay figure claimed here: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), BPS-19; Deputy Inspector General (DIG), BPS-20; Additional Inspector General (Addl. IG), BPS-21; Inspector General (IG), BPS-22. These are senior Police Service of Pakistan posts whose total pay depends on allowances and posting, so no single figure is stated for them.

Grade mapping, confirmed by the September 2026 Sindh advertisement

The junior grade mapping above is confirmed by the September 2026 Sindh Police recruitment advertisement, as listed by multiple recruitment listings: Police Constable at BPS-07, Head Constable (Wireless Operator) at BPS-09, Driver Police Constable at BPS-07 and Assistant Sub-Inspector at BPS-11. Older guides that list Constable at BPS-05, Head Constable at BPS-07 and ASI at BPS-09 describe an older mapping, not the current advertisement mapping. Narr's own national police ranks page also lists ASI at BPS-09 in its older table; this guide uses the BPS-11 mapping confirmed by the September 2026 advertisement. If an advertisement you are applying against prints a different grade, the advertisement wins, because it is the document that decides your pay.

What the basic pay figure does not include

Actual monthly pay is higher than starting basic pay. Police guides list allowances including house rent, medical, risk, uniform and conveyance allowances, and the 2026 revision also grants Ad-hoc Relief Allowance 2026 at 7 percent of running basic pay. Because the exact combination depends on posting, range and grade, no public source can give one exact take-home figure for every Sindh Police post. Treat any single take-home total quoted by a job blog as an estimate, not an official figure.

How to join Sindh Police, and the last recruitment

No Sindh Police recruitment is claimed open in this guide. The last recruitment covered here is the September 2026 advertisement for 3,285 posts, which closed on 15 October 2026. Read its scope carefully: those posts were reserved for legal heirs of Shaheed, deceased and permanently incapacitated police employees, under the Sindh Police Recruitment Rules 2021, not general open merit posts. The posts were Police Constable (BPS-07, Matric, age 18 to 28), Driver Police Constable (BPS-07, Matric plus a valid motor car driving licence), Head Constable Wireless Operator (BPS-09) and Assistant Sub-Inspector (BPS-11, graduation second division, age 21 to 28, through SIBA Testing Services). Physical standards listed for that recruitment were: male height 5 feet 8.5 inches, chest 33 inches with 1.5 inches expansion, 1,600 metres running in 8 minutes for constables and 10 minutes for driver constables; female height 5 feet, 800 metres walk in 14 minutes. General open merit recruitment follows its own advertisement when announced: check sindhpolice.gov.pk for the current advertisement before applying, and do not apply on the basis of the closed quota advertisement.
