Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan rose again from Tuesday 27 October 2026. This page is Narr's single current petrol price page: it will be updated at each revision, so bookmark this URL instead of searching for a new daily article. The new rates below are from the Petroleum Division notification issued on Monday 26 October 2026, as reported by multiple outlets.
New prices from 27 October 2026
Petrol is now Rs 379.25 per litre, up by Rs 1.54 from Rs 377.71 per litre. High-speed diesel is now Rs 395.82 per litre, up by Rs 2.16 from Rs 393.66 per litre. The new prices took effect from midnight on 27 October 2026. In the previous revision, petrol was kept unchanged while diesel rose, for the 24 to 26 October window. Diesel has now risen for the third consecutive revision, moving from Rs 390.11 per litre on 22 October to Rs 395.82 per litre now, an increase of Rs 5.71 per litre across the three revisions.
Why prices changed
The Petroleum Division said the changes were made under the petroleum pricing mechanism, in view of global market developments, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and other incidental costs. Pakistan now uses a daily petroleum pricing mechanism, introduced in July 2026, under which the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority reviews prices using a rolling seven-day average of international petroleum prices. Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik has said the daily review is meant to reflect international market changes more quickly, at a time of volatility in global oil markets and uncertainty over energy supplies.
What it means for households and transport
Petrol is the daily fuel for motorcycles, cars and small transport, so a Rs 1.54 rise adds directly to commuting costs. Diesel is the fuel for freight vehicles, buses and agricultural machinery, so a Rs 2.16 rise pushes up operating costs for goods transport, public transport and farming. That is why a diesel rise often reaches household budgets through transport fares and goods prices, even for people who do not drive a diesel vehicle themselves. Watch the next daily notification for the following day's rate: under the daily mechanism, prices can move again the next day, and this page will be updated when they do.
