Interest in the Pakistan Rangers spikes every time a recruitment drive is announced, because the force offers stable employment, a chance to serve the nation and a clear career path. The most recent drives , Punjab in September 2026 and Sindh in March to May 2026 , have now closed, but the advertised criteria remain the best reference for anyone planning to apply when the next round is launched.
Eligibility Criteria
The September 2026 Punjab advertisement set the age limit at 18 to 30 years as of 28 October 2026, with a five-year general relaxation for certain categories. Candidates must hold at least a middle school certificate for Lady Rangers and Cook positions, while a HEC-recognised Shahadat-ul-Aalamia is required for the Religious Teacher role. For other trades such as Khakrob and combined trades, basic literacy is sufficient. Government servants who wish to join must obtain a No-Objection Certificate from their department.
Physical Standards
Male applicants must be at least 5 feet 6 inches tall, have a chest measurement of 33 inches with a 1.5 inch expansion, and weigh a minimum of 121 pounds or meet the BMI requirement set by the force. Female (Lady Rangers) candidates need a minimum height of 5 feet 4 inches. These standards were listed in the September 2026 Punjab advertisement.
Application Steps
Punjab’s September drive accepted postal applications at Post Box No. 6080, Lahore, with a deadline of 25 September 2026 for most categories. Lady Rangers registration was conducted in person from 28 September to 2 October 2026. An earlier August drive for Sepoy General Duty posts (964 positions) used online registration from 17 to 26 August 2026, followed by centre tests between 7 and 23 September 2026.
Sindh’s 2026 drive required online registration via join.pakistanrangerssindh.gov.pk from 13 to 19 May 2026. Although the portal returned an error when checked on 8 October 2026, the process was reported to involve SMS confirmations from the short code SINDRANGER and testing at designated centres in Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Larkana, Nawabshah and Pano Aqil.
Selection Stages
Both provinces follow a multi-stage selection: a physical test, written and intelligence test, interview and final medical examination. Candidates who clear each stage receive a call-up notice, and successful applicants are posted according to the vacancies advertised , ranging from Sepoy General Duty (BPS-05) to specialized roles such as Religious Teacher (BPS-11) and Lady Rangers Sepoy (BPS-05).
What to Expect Next
With the current drives closed, prospective applicants should keep the official recruitment pages under watch. Punjab’s official site lists a contact email hq@pakistanrangers.punjab.gov.pk and phone numbers 042-99220037-38 for enquiries. Sindh’s portal remains the primary channel for online applications when it reopens. Preparing early , gathering required documents, meeting physical standards and studying past test papers , will give candidates an edge when the next announcement is made.
