Punjab Introduces Online Birth, Marriage, Divorce and Death Registration via PakID App

Punjab has launched a digital enrollment system for birth, marriage, divorce, and death, allowing  citizens to complete these vital enrollments through the PakID mobile app. The service is presently  available in three pilot districts: Jhelum, Chakwal, and Nankana, with plans to expand across the fiefdom.

The action follows an e-registration agreement inked between the Original Government Punjab and NADRA, formalized by Secretary local Government Shakeel Ahmed and DG NADRA Punjab Fiza Shahid. Under this agreement, citizens can now register key life events from the convenience of their homes using the PakID app.

The government launched this pilot project in three districts. Going forward, Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed said the system will expand to union councils across Punjab, emphasizing improved services for citizens

DG NADRA Punjab Fiza Shahid added that the initiative aims to make enrollments faster, easier, and more accessible, reducing the need for in- person visits to government services.

How the PakID App Digital Registration Works:

• Citizens can register births, marriages, divorces, and deaths directly through the app.
• Required documents can be uploaded digitally, eliminating the need to visit government offices in person.
• Once registered, certificates can be accessed or downloaded
• The service will gradationally expand to all union councils across Punjab.

This move aligns with the government’s push for digital transformation in public services, making essential processes more convenient and transparent for residents.
